Travelling to York by train

Welcome to my first blog!

There is so much I wanted to share about a visit to York but today I am going to write a short blog about how easy it is to travel to York by train.

We are lucky in as much as the two holiday rentals in York that we offer for your short break in York have parking. Minster Garden House has one car parking space and Minster Townhouse has two which is rare in the centre of York and especially as they are both next to York Minster. However both are easy to get to on foot (or a very short taxi ride) from York Train Station.

York Train Station opened in 1877 and at the time was the largest in the world. Today you can travel from London Kings Cross to York in around 2 hours and from Edinburgh Waverley Station to York in around 2 and 1/2 hours.

Taxis are available outside the station but it is only around a ten minute walk to our self-catering holiday rental houses in York - just turn left out of the train station, go over the river bridge and you will see York Minster straight ahead - you can't miss it. Our properties are next to York Minster.

If you are interested in a short break in York or maybe considering a longer stay in York contact us to discuss your requirements and check out our holiday rentals in York centre.
